The mission of VentureDeal (hereafter, "VentureDeal", "we" or "our") is to provide you (hereafter, "you", "User" or "Users") with the most useful financial information related to venture-backed technology companies. However, we're not just committed to providing you with up-to-date information, we're also committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy outlines, among other items, the type of information we collect from Users about themselves, the type of information and the types of entities to whom we may disclose certain information about Users, how such information may be used, how Users can opt out, certain of Users' rights, steps that VentureDeal takes to protect your privacy, and the steps Users can take to update User information with VentureDeal or deactivate a User account.

Categories of personally identifiable information collected on Users while logged into www.venturedeal.com
When you create a login email address and password on VentureDeal, you will be asked to complete a registration form. From this form, VentureDeal will collect the following information:
- Name, zip code and email address as provided by the User.
- Credit card information provided by User, including name, number, expiration date and security code.
Every time you login to the VentureDeal website, VentureDeal will collect the following information:
- A User's unique IP address upon login, in order to prevent multiple logins from a single User account email address and to protect the VentureDeal database from unauthorized use. VentureDeal does not track a User's individual actions onsite.
Use of your name and email address
If you sign up for free emails or a subscription to the database, VentureDeal will place your name and email address on the VentureDeal Distribution List in order that we may contact you with details about information concerning other products/services that we think might interest you.
We may also contact you by email or phone regarding your account with VentureDeal or to answer any of your inquiries.
Categories of third-party persons or entities with whom VentureDeal may share a User's anonymous information
VentureDeal does not share User's anonymous information with any third party persons or entities.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.
Agents
We use an outside credit card processing company to bill you for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.
Service Providers
We use other third parties to provide software programming and hosting services on our site. When you sign up for email or a subscription, we will share your personally identifiable information on an as-needed basis as necessary for the third party to provide that service on our behalf.

How to opt out of VentureDeal Distribution List and/or Circulation List
If you do not wish to be included on the VentureDeal Distribution List or the Circulation List, then you may contact us at any time to indicate that you wish to opt out of either or both of these lists. You may also utilize the unsubscribe link provided in each email you receive.
Upon receipt of such request, VentureDeal will update its VentureDeal Distribution List and/or Circulation List, per your instruction, by removing your name and email address there from within 7 business days.
Description of process for User to review and request changes to personally identifiable information collected by VentureDeal
A User may review his/her personally identifiable information collected by VentureDeal by logging in to his/her account (the "My Account" section of the website) during any time that the VentureDeal service is operational. Under "My Account", a User may change his/her name, street address, all credit card information and any information that the User has submitted in the Profile section.
If the VentureDeal service is not operational at the time of login, a User may also notify VentureDeal via email or place a telephone call to the company phone number at (650) 924-9239 (which can also be found under "Contact Us" on the VentureDeal home page) and provide a detailed listing of the change(s) requested.
If you use our blog, on this Web site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these blogs, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these blogs.
Collection of User IP Addresses
To guard against a User's account being compromised and utilized by more than one person, VentureDeal collects unique User IP address login information as a condition of granting User access to the database. If a User is unwilling to accept this condition, then the User's only recourse is to not be become a registered User or to cancel his/her subscription.
Description of process of notification of a change to Privacy Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the home page, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page. The most up-to-date Privacy Policy can be found by clicking the icon marked "PRIVACY POLICY" at the bottom of each page on the website.
Your continued use of the VentureDeal website following announcement of an update to the Privacy Policy will be deemed to constitute your acceptance of such changes to the Privacy Policy in effect at such time of continued use.
Security procedures taken by VentureDeal to safeguard and protect personally-identifiable information collected
- VentureDeal manages the permissions of each User so that each User is only allowed to see his/her personal information and no other User's information.
- VentureDeal uses industry-standard 128-bit Secure Socket Layer certificate encryption of User login and password during the login process.
- VentureDeal segregates all personally identifiable User data from the website database and related files.
- The maintenance and operation login information of VentureDeal server(s) are protected by 128-bit Secure Socket Layer-encrypted login and firewall technologies.
- VentureDeal maintains an audit trail for User transactions and changes to their personally-identifiable information.
- VentureDeal restricts employee access to User information, including name, address and credit card by the method of electronic restrictions that deny access by employees who are not trained and specifically instructed by VentureDeal management to access such information.
Deactivation of User accounts
A User who desires to deactivate his/her account at VentureDeal may do so by visiting the My Account section of the website, then choosing the Database Subscription option and finally selecting the Cancel Subscription option. Alternatively, a User may email VentureDeal and request deactivation in writing. As a final alternative, a User may contact VentureDeal by phone and speak to a representative to request deactivation. Leaving a message on a voice mail or other message-storage device is not considered adequate notice.
After deactivation, the deactivated User's personal information will be available only to select VentureDeal personnel for administrative, accounting or legal purposes, including but not limited to fraud prevention, fee collections, dispute resolution, problem troubleshooting, investigation assistance, and compliance with applicable laws, court orders and legal requests.
Links to other sites
To provide Users with a more complete resource for investment information and services, VentureDeal may contain links to certain other sites from time to time. In some instances, we will share demographic information on our Users with sites that link to VentureDeal, but again, this information is shared on an aggregate basis only.
Please note that you may be required to register with a site that links to VentureDeal in order to take advantage of that site's services (for example, if a User wishes to order a book at Amazon.com that was recommended at VentureDeal).
